7 Reasons To Avoid Pressure Washing

We know, it sounds a bit odd that if we are in the pressure washing business we should be encouraging you to seek our service. However, we also get that a number of people fail to see the value in this service. So, we have decided to look at reasons why you would try to avoid using pressure washing services. Part way through this list you’ll begin to understand why we are doing this. See if any of these are excuses you would use or have already used this year.

1 – Dirt And Grime Has A Particular Appeal

One of the things that power washing does is it can really show you the condition of whatever you’ve decided to wash. Whether it’s the side of a building, a driveway, sidewalk or any other place you would think to point a wand with high pressure water squirting out of it something strange happens. The stains, mold, dirt and debris get thoroughly ripped away from the surface that is being cleaned. The problem with that is it can reveal the true beauty of that item and therefore become a distraction to those spending time admiring that newly washed sidewalk.

2 – Dirty Floors Keep Everyone Working Harder

Let’s face it, you have some standards but there is a limit. Where employees tend to congregate, you know, on the warehouse floor, underground parking lot or the common area between classrooms, the last thing they need is a reason to hang out there and waste more company time. When you pressure wash floors you end up removing such things as germs, lichen, moss, algae and various other fungal items. You end up making these places safe and healthy for your staff. If you leave them alone, the fear of illness tends to keep staff working more than goofing off.

3 – Keep Property Values In Check

Real estate agents are a crafty bunch. They will tell you that one of the best ways to increase the value of your property prior to selling is to do some cosmetic changes. They call it curb appeal. One of the many suggestions that will come out of that conversation is the way in which a pressure washing business can blast your house with high pressure water from a hose and leave it in a condition that will help your asking price increase in amount. Unless you truly want to tick off the rest of your neighbors by skewing the property values, skip the power wash.

4 – The Eco-Friendly Solution

One way in which pressure washing is unusual is that it can clean surfaces – and we’re talking some pretty big surfaces – with a lot less water than doing the same job with a garden hose, a sponge and a bucket. The issue here is that when you use the old school method, you can make a day out of it. Have a family event you are trying to get out of? Grab the sponge, bucket, some soap and the garden hose and you’ll dodge that bullet. Use pressure washing in this instance and you’ll be finished your job in a fraction of the time and use far less water. It also means you will end up going to that family event you were so desperately trying to avoid attending. Damn!

5 – Then There’s The Cost Issue

Pressure washing prices are probably not what you expect. There’s going to be things like electricity or gas to run the motor that sucks up the water out of your hose and spits it through a high-pressure nozzle. There’s going to be an equipment rental cost if you are thinking of going the DIY route and well, you have to factor in your time and anything else that would be applicable. Or you could just take your chances by hiring us to do the work for you.

6 – Nothing Works Quite Like Elbow Grease

Have you ever tried to gently wipe something clean when it’s covered in a thick coating of something alien looking? It’s not going to happen. That’s why you know you are getting a deep cleaning when you have to work so hard that you break out in a sweat and break something in the process. Pressure washing services tend to get the job done a lot quicker with a lot less effort. That should make you a little bit suspicious from the very beginning. It’s almost as if the grime people conspired with the pressure washing people to mess with your common sense.

7 – The Social Networking Part

Nothing says it’s time to get together with the neighbors like a barbecue planned for after everyone on the block helps wipe the grime off of the bottom of your drained swimming pool. There’s plenty of time during this kind of project to share, swap a few stories and tell a lie or two or you could just hire our pressure washing business to do the pool while you serve up burgers to all your guests who didn’t have to earn them by working on a cleaning project first.

Are We Making Our Point, Yet?

Okay, so let’s review. If you use a pressure washing service you are going to get a deep down clean of any and all surfaces you point the pressure nozzle at. Some of these tools have such high pressure that they can damage the paint on a vehicle – note, we never even hinted at washing a car anywhere here and still won’t. But you need that kind of pressure in order to penetrate such things as concrete, brick and mortar, siding and well, the surfaces you are trying to clean.

As for stripping flooring of some nasty stuff, pressure washing is probably your best defence. Anything from spills to bacterial growth can be removed with the use of a well-aimed and properly tweaked wand. We like to call them our secret weapon simply because with one in your hands you are not only the most powerful person in your immediate area, you have suddenly acquired a super power that only uses water – not some other nuclear-powered device.

There is also a documented correlation between how a home looks when on the real estate market and the amount it earns the homeowner when sold. The tricks shared by real estate agents are anything but shady and deceptive. By making your home look its best – and that may include pressure washing the exterior, the driveway or sidewalk – you stand a very good chance at earning much more than you thought your home was worth in the first place.

If you have any concerns about water conservation, using a high pressure washing system will go the distance in conserving water. That’s simply because the power jet of water will do a great job of cleaning any surface which reduces the amount of water you would ordinarily use to go over spots several times to get them clean. This method also saves time and energy so you don’t end up working all day to clean something that could have taken just hours to complete.

Plus, the cost of pressure washing is far less than you think. If you have your water service metered, you’ll save a great deal compared to renting a machine and doing it yourself risking injury and who knows what else just because you just don’t have the training necessary to pull the job off quickly and efficiently. We’re not saying you can’t do it. You just won’t be able to do it quite the way we do, and that’s perfectly okay. That’s why we’re here.

Still Think You Should Avoid Using A Pressure Washing Service?
